Shawn Roah

Shawn Roah, a musician/guitarist well-versed in both art and pop, frequents the music scene in southern California. Although classically trained, he prefers the rhythm of the current music pulse, most notably indie and avant-garde. His musical education was brought to fruition during his time at Cal State Fullerton, where he studied classical guitar, composition and the science of tuning and temperament.

Shawn is currently the General Manager at Bertrand's Music. He enjoys the challenges of a quickly changing market place, as well as the feeling of accomplishment that comes with seeing students in band and orchestra make strides toward their musical goals. In his spare time Shawn practices yoga, the guitar, and dabbles in writing and recording music.

Reylina Espinoza

Reylina began her career at Bertrand's Music in July of 2010, and is presently a shift lead.. Her musical journey began in 7th grade choir; she sang soprano in Chamber Singers as well as Gospel Choir until graduating from high school. Country music is her preferred style to listen to, especially artists such as Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan. Currently Reylina is studying nursing and psychology at San Bernardino Valley College, preparing to be a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Some of her favorite hobbies include drawing, reading, and exercising.

Edgar

Edgar was born In West Covina and moved to Fontana when he was 9 and has been there ever since. He began playing music in middle school and surprisingly his first instrument was not the saxophone, it was the flute. Once he got to high school, he decided to switch to saxophone and has not looked back since. Edgar is currently finishing his 4th year of college at Cal State San Bernardino where he is double majoring in Music education and Music Performance on Saxophone with a minor in Jazz studies. He has been a part of many ensembles at school which include the symphonic band, jazz band, jazz combo, sax quartet, musical groups, pep band, chamber winds, and now the chamber singers along with other groups in the community. As a result of playing in the jazz band he has played with artists like B.B King, Peter Erskine and his quartet which includes the great Bob Mintzer, Manhattan Transfer, Mongorama and Pancho Sanchez's group which includes Dr. Bobby Rodriguez and Oscar Hernandez. In 2011 Edgar began working at Bertrand’s music started teaching lessons the following year and has gained many new experiences and learned a thing or two about communication, teamwork and music from a different point of view. In the future, Edgar plans on going to grad school in order obtain a Masters and Doctorate degrees most likely in performance.

Leslie Gonzales

Leslie Gonzalez is in her fourth year at CSUSB. She is double majoring in Liberal Studies and Music with an emphasis in vocal performance. This is her second year with the CSUSB Opera theatre, having sung in the chorus in last year's Opera of Hansel and Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck. She has performed with Concert Choir and Chamber Singers for the past four years as a soprano.This spring she is working with the CSUSB Opera Theatre on their production of Leonard Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti. This summer she will be playing the part of Vivian in Broadway Theatrical's presentation of Oklahoma. Her hobbies include: dancing, reading and writing.

AJ has been in band since the 5th grade and started out on the flute and was inspired by Spongebob. He then switched to the saxophone during his freshman year in high school. He joined the jazz band at Etiwanda High School playing the tenor saxophone and has been playing ever since. On the side, he was involved in the school's indoor drumline program during the winter semester and played cymbals and bass drum. His senior year, he decided to switch to tenors for marching band and the following indoor season which has become what he is passionate for today. He just finished the 2014 WGI season with Dark Sky Percussion on tenor drums and plans to continue it until he ages out of the activity. In school, he plans to transfer out of Mt. SAC, where he currently plays for the Lab Band, and go to school to earn a degree in computer science.
